Vinton Gray Cerf ForMemRS (/sɜːrf/; born June 23, 1943) is an American Internet pioneer and is recognized as one of "the fathers of the Internet". He invented TCP/IP together with Bob Kahn.[7] He has received honorary degrees and awards that include the National Medal of Technology, the Turing Award,[8][9] the Presidential Medal of Freedom,[10] the Marconi Prize, and membership in the National Academy of Engineering.[11] He is also known for his position as Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google.
