He represented China at the Summer Olympics twice (2008 and 2012). He was the 100 m gold medallist at the 2009 Asian Athletics Championships and was the silver medallist in that event at the 2007 Summer Universiade. He broke the Chinese record in the 4×100 metres relay on several occasions and is the joint holder of the current record of 37.92 seconds set at the 2015 Beijing World Championships.
