До́льнік — від танічнага верша, своеасаблівая пераходная форма ад сілаба-танічнай да танічнай сістэмы вершаскладання. У дольніку звычайна ўрэгулявана колькасць моцных месцаў (іктаў) у радках, аднак міжіктавыя інтэрвалы не аднолькавыя, як правіла, займаюць адзін-два склады. Часам могуць быць пропускі апорных (моцных) націскаў. У выніку ў дольніку выяўляецца чаргаванне не аднолькавых стопаў, як у сілаба-танічным вершы, а няроўнаскладовых рытмічных доляў (адсюль і назва верша). І наадварот, калі колькасць адступленняў павялічваецца, ён далей адходзіць ад сілаба-тонікі, набліжаецца да танічнага верша.
