Та́нтра (санскрыт: तन्त्र, літаральна «нітка», «выраб тканіны») — рэлігійны твор, засяроджаны галоўным чынам на рытуальных і медытатыўных практыках.
Слова тантра ўжывалася ў Паўднёвай Азіі ўжо ў 1 тысячагоддзі да н. э. у вельмі шырокім кантэксце. У 1 тысячагоддзі н. э. сфарміраваўся асобны жанр тантрычнай літаратуры, непасрэдна звязаны з рэлігійнымі традыцыямі і пэўным колам людзей, якія выкарыстоўваюць гэтыя традыцыі. Тантры і тантрычныя практыкі аказалі значны ўплыў на будызм (асабліва напрамак ваджраяна) і індуізм.
У першай палове XX ст. амерыканскі прыхільнік ёгі П'ер Бернар выклаў у спрошчанай папулярнай форме веды пра тантры для заходняй аўдыторыі, пры гэтым стварыў не зусім праўдзівае ўражанне аб сувязі тантр з сексам. У выніку ў межах акультызму і руху Нью эйдж узнікла так званая наватантра (санскрыт: नवतन्त्र, літаральна «новая тантра»), якая засяроджана вакол тантрычнага сексу.
