Sereď (maďarsky: Szered) je slovenské město, které se nachází v Trnavském kraji asi 15 km jihovýchodně od Trnavy na pravém břehu řeky Váh. V roce 2005 zde žilo 17 224 obyvatel.

První písemná zmínka o městě „Zereth“ pochází z roku 1313 v listině o příjmech z církevních desátků.
V roce 1847 byla do města přivedena koněspřežná železnice z Trnavy. Dne 1.9.1876 byl zahájen provoz na trati Trnava–Sereď s parní trakcí. Dne 1.11.1883 byl zahájen provoz na trati Galanta–Sereď a dne 20.7.1885 byl zahájen provoz na trati Sereď–Leopoldov.[2]
Ve městě byl za druhé světové války zřízen koncentrační tábor pro Židy. V roce 2016 bylo v objektu bývalého tábora otevřeno Muzeum holokaustu.[3]
