Saber Interactive wurde 2001 von Andrey Iones, Matthew Karch und Anton Krupkin gegründet.[3][4] Karch ist Geschäftsführer des Unternehmens.[5] Saber entwickelte und verwendet eine proprietäre Spiel-Engine, die Saber3D Engine, die bei TimeShift (2007) das erste Mal zum Einsatz kam.[6] Im Oktober 2019 wurde Bigmoon Entertainment von Saber Interactive übernommen.[7] Bigmoon Entertainment ist ein Entwicklungsstudio für Videospiele, mit Sitz in Porto. Bigmoon Entertainment wurde zu Saber Porto umbenannt.[8] Im Februar 2020 wurde Saber Interactive von der Embracer Group für 525 Millionen US-Dollar übernommen.[9] Im März 2024 verkaufte Embracer Saber Interactive und zugehörige Studios an das Konsortium Beacon Interactive.[10]
