Born on 21 November 1805 in Rome,[1] he was the son of the noted Roman physician Domenico Lino Morichini (1773–1837).[2] He studied philosophy and law for seven years (1822–1818) at the University of Rome, La Sapienza, and was awarded the degree Doctor in utroque iure. He was later awarded a doctorate in theology. He was ordained a priest on 20 December 1828.[1]
