Noel Gallo

Noel Gallo represents District 5 on the Oakland City Council, a position he has held since 2013.[1] Gallo is chair of the public safety committee,[2] where he has advocated for youth curfews[3] and the creation of a Public Safety Oversight Commission.[4]

In 1992 he was the first Hispanic elected to the Oakland School Board[5] on which he also served as President.[6]
Gallo grew up in the Fruitvale district,[7] which he now represents.[8]
