In 2019 election, Biju Janata Dal candidate Srikanta Sahu defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Gokula Nanda Mallik by a margin of 12,739 votes.
In 2014 election, Biju Janata Dal candidate Srikant Sahu defeated Indian National Congress candidate Gokul Nanda Mallik by a margin of 21,217 votes.[12]
