Although the village takes its name after General Casimir Pulaski (/pəˈlæski/ pə-LAS-kee), area residents have traditionally pronounced it with a long "i" (/pəˈlæskaɪ/ pə-LAS-kye). The historic core of the village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 as the Pulaski Village Historic District.[2]
