Sarkand District or Sarkant District (Kazakh: Сарқан ауданы, Sarqan aýdany) is a district of Almaty Region in Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the town of Sarkand.[2] Population: 40,683 (2013 estimate);[1] 41,016 (2009 Census results);[3] 47,808 (1999 Census results).[3]
