The station's name was revived for the temporarily-reactivated Southampton College station during the 2004 and 2018 U.S. Opens, which took place at the nearby Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.[2]
The station first opened around 1887 on the south side of the tracks, and closed in 1938.[1]
The building was used as a U.S. Post Office and as of 2013 was in use as a private residence. In October 2013, the structure was dedicated as a Southampton Town Historic Landmark by the Town of Southampton.[3]
