The 1929 Thuringia state election was held on 8 December 1929 to elect the 53 members of the Landtag of Thuringia.[1]
After the election, as the price for joining the coalition government of the Land (state) of Thuringia, the Nazi Party NSDAP received the state ministries of the Interior and Education. On 23 January 1930, Wilhelm Frick was appointed to these ministries, becoming the first Nazi to hold a ministerial-level post at any level in Germany.
