• 18 February – Norway's Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra appoints Edward Gardner as its next principal conductor, with effect from the 2015–2016 season.^[1]
• 18 March – Sweden's Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra appoints Stefan Solyom as its next chief conductor, with effect from the 2014–2015 season.^[2]
