The 2017 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships were held from January 14–22 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri and Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Missouri.[1] Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies singles, pair skating, and ice dancing at the senior, junior, novice, intermediate, and juvenile levels. The results were part of the U.S. selection criteria for the 2017 Four Continents, 2017 World Junior Championships, and the 2017 World Championships.
Kansas City was announced as the host in December 2015.[2][3]

In November 2016, U.S. Figure Skating published the list of skaters who had qualified or received a bye to the 2017 U.S. Championships.[5] A number of skaters later withdrew, including Adam Rippon, Polina Edmunds,[6] Alexa Scimeca Knierim / Chris Knierim,[7] Caitlin Fields / Ernie Utah Stevens, and Jessica Calalang / Zack Sidhu.[8]
