• 10 May: Air Vanuatu, the country's flag carrier ceases, is placed in liquidation by the Government of Vanuatu.^[1]
• 29 May: 2024 Vanuatuan constitutional referendum: Vanuatuans hold the first national constitutional referendum to vote on amendments related to party switching.^[2]
• 2 to 13 December: Vanuatu and the Melanesian Spearhead Group present an opening appeal at "landmark hearings" in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) requesting the ICJ to establish responsibilities for climate change under international law.^[3][4][5]
• 17 December: A magnitude 7.3 earthquake strikes in the Coral Sea, 19 miles west of Port Vila,^[6] killing at least 12 people.^[7]
