2025 GN₁ is a near-Earth asteroid discovered by the Cerro Tololo-DECam on 4 April 2025. It is noted for its extreme short orbit period around the Sun (113 days).

Orbit

2025 GN₁ has an orbit very similar to 2021 PH₂₇, which has the shortest orbital period around the Sun (also 113 days). This similarity gave rise to a hypothesis, that 2025 GN₁ is a pair asteroid of 2021 PH₂₇. The two objects might have formed as fragments of a larger parent after a close encounter with Venus 11,000 years ago. 2025 GN₁ is expected to fly close to Venus in 2,300 years, possibly even impacting the planet.^[1]
