A Chorus of Obliteration is the debut album by Christian metal band the Showdown. Every song on A Chorus of Obliteration is based on a story in the Bible. For example, "A Monument Encased in Ash" is based on the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, "Epic: A Chorus of Obliteration" is based on the Israelites taking down Jericho, "From the Mouth of Gath Comes Terror" is based on the conflict between David and Goliath, and "Dagon Undone (The Reckoning)" is based on Samson and Delilah. The musical style showcases the band's earlier fusion of death metal,[2][4] black metal,[2] melodic death metal,[5] metalcore,[2][4] and Southern rock.[2]
