Abatar (Persian: اباتر)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Abatar Rural District of Taher Gurab District, Sowme'eh Sara County, Gilan province, Iran.[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,822 in 528 households, when it was in Taher Gurab Rural District of the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,775 people in 592 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,538 people in 552 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Taher Gurab District. Abatar was transferred to Abatar Rural District created in the new district.[4]
