History

After Hamas outlawed Fatah's activities in the Gaza Strip in 2007, cofounders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades founded the Abdul al-Qadir al-Husseini Brigades in 2012. Hamas allowed the organization to function without giving it explicit permission.[6]

It participated in the wars of 2012 and 2014.[citation needed] They participated in the 2018–2019 Gaza border protests[8] and the 2021 Israel–Palestine crisis.[9][10] They fought the IDF in the Netzarim Corridor[3] and Rafah.[11] They fired rockets at Israel in 2022.[13]
