Action For Humanity (AFH) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief in areas affected by conflict, natural disasters, and other crises. The organisation focuses on delivering emergency assistance, supporting long-term recovery, and advocating for vulnerable populations.
Originally founded as Syria Relief in 2011 by a group of doctors to provide assistance and aid to those devastated by conflict.[12] Action For Humanity is the parent charity of Syria Relief,[13] the largest Syria-focused NGO in the United Kingdom.[14] Action For Humanity has operations in Syria,[15] Yemen,[16] Ukraine[17] and Pakistan.[18] In 2022, the organisation operated 306 schools inside Syria.[19] The charity is a large recipient of United Nations funding.[20]
Over the years, AFH has expanded its operations to include a broad range of humanitarian activities, partnering with local and international organisations.
The organisation has previously worked with Dr David Nott[21] and Adam Kelwick.[22] Its Chief Executive Officer is Othman Moqbel.[23]
Through its subsidiary, Syria Relief, Action For Humanity has been a leading NGO advocating for the extension of UN Security Council mandated aid into Syria via crossborder.[24][25]
