Addison Rae Easterling (born October 6, 2000) is an American social media personality, singer, and actress. She rose to prominence on TikTok in 2019, amassing over 88 million followers, making her the fifth most-followed individual on the platform, as of 2025. She has appeared in films including the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021) and the horror film Thanksgiving (2023).
In 2021, she released her critically panned debut single, "Obsessed", which was later included on her debut EP AR (2023). In 2024, she signed with Columbia Records and released "Diet Pepsi", which received critical praise and peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song preceded her debut studio album Addison (2025) which received positive reviews, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200. Rae received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 68th Grammy Awards.

Early life and education
Addison Rae Easterling[1][a] was born on October 6, 2000,[2][3] and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, to parents Monty Lopez and Sheri Easterling.[2] Rae has two younger brothers, Enzo Lopez and Lucas Lopez,[4] and an older half-sister, Macye Neumeyer, who has two daughters of her own. Rae's parents initially divorced when she was younger and were on and off often throughout her childhood, before remarrying in 2017, later divorcing again in 2022.[5]
Rae started dancing competitively at the age of six where she attended competitions across the country.[2] Before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her career, the social media star briefly attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where she studied broadcast journalism in the fall to become a sports broadcaster but then dropped out when she began to gain popularity on TikTok.[6] In an interview with Elle magazine, Rae talked about her choice to move to Los Angeles, saying: "a few people in LA reached out to me, and I was like 'I need to go. I need to go.' So my parents supported me fully."[7]

2019–2023: TikTok fame and career beginnings
Rae first gained attention after joining the social media app TikTok in July 2019, uploading dance videos to trending songs on the platform.[8] She was a part of the TikTok collective The Hype House in December 2019 for a brief period of time.[9] Within a few months, Rae gained over one million followers on the app, leaving LSU in November.[10] As of November 2025, she has amassed over 88 million followers on the app.[11] She later signed with talent agency WME in January 2020.[12] In July, Addison released a weekly Spotify-exclusive podcast alongside her mother, Mama Knows Best, covering their personal and career lives.[13] Rae later relaunched this podcast under the name That Was Fun?.[14]

In March 2021, Rae entered the music industry and released her debut single, "Obsessed".[15] The single was critically panned,[16] and was intended to be the lead single for her then-upcoming project but was temporarily shelved.[17] That same year, Rae launched her own cosmetics line, Item Beauty, but it discontinued in 2023.[10][18] Rae also founded her own fragrance line.[19] In August, Rae made her feature film debut as Padgett in the Netflix comedy film He's All That (2021), a remake film of the 1999 teen comedy She's All That.[20] The film was the release week #1 most-watched film on the Netflix during its release week but debuted with negative reviews.[21]
In February 2022, it was announced that Rae had joined the cast of a film titled Fashionista, produced by Paramount.[22] That same month, multiple songs from her unreleased EP leaked on YouTube, which Rae initially thought "could mark the death knell for her music career".[17] However, the tracks gained traction online, which spurred her to release her debut extended play AR on August 18, 2023.[23] The EP received generally positive reviews,[24][17] and debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.[25] In November, Rae appeared as Gaby in the slasher film Thanksgiving (2023).[26]
2024–present: Film & Television appearances and Addison
In March 2024, Rae featured on Charli XCX's remix of "Von Dutch" which went on to appear on Charli XCX's remix album Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat (2024).[27][28] Rae also appeared on A. G. Cook's album Britpop (2024) on a song titled "Lucifer" with Charli XCX.[23] In August 2024, Addison Rae released her first major label single, "Diet Pepsi", through Columbia Records.[29] The song received positive reviews and commercial success.[30] The song went on to peak at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 marking Rae's first entry.[31] Rae performed the song live at Madison Square Garden with Troye Sivan and Charli XCX on the Sweat tour.[32] In October 2024, Rae released the single "Aquamarine".[33] A remix of the song with Arca was released a month later.[34]

In January 2025, during an interview with Rolling Stone, Rae confirmed that she would be releasing her debut studio album in 2025,[35] with Pitchfork, writer Meaghan Garvey calling it one of the most anticipated pop releases of the year.[36] In February, Rae released the single "High Fashion" and its accompanying music video.[37] Following the single's release, she was featured on the cover of Vogue France.[38] In April 2025, Rae performed "Aquamarine / Arcamarine" at Coachella with Arca and also announced the release date for her upcoming debut studio album for June.[39]
Rae's debut album, Addison, was eventually released on June 6, 2025, and was preceded by the release of the additional singles "Headphones On" and "Fame Is a Gun".[40] The album found commercial success,[41] debuting at number four on the Billboard 200. It sold 48,500 album-equivalent units in its first week, consisting of 23,000 pure album sales and 25,500 streaming equivalent album units from 33 million streams.[42] Rae celebrated the release of Addison with a live concert at NYC’s The Box. The event marked a high-energy celebration of her first full-length effort, featuring performances of tracks from the album. The concert was produced in partnership with Spotify.[43]
On June 17, Rae announced she would embark on her first headlining tour, The Addison Tour, with dates in Europe, North America and Australia, from August through November 2025.[44] In October 2025, Rae appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, performing "Diet Pepsi" wearing a sparkling gold gown first worn by the burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee in the 1950s.[45] She appeared in the third season of Netflix's biographical crime drama anthology television series Monster: The Ed Gein Story as Evelyn Hartley.[46] Rae will star in the live-action animated road comedy film Animal Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza, which is set to be released on May 1, 2026.[47][48][49] In November 2025, she was nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Grammy Awards.[50]

In March 2020, Australian rapper The Kid Laroi released the song "Addison Rae", which was named after Rae and became popular on social media.[71] Followed by this, Rae appeared in Lil Mosey's "Blueberry Faygo" music video.[72][73] Later that year, Rae was mentioned by rapper Lil Yachty on his song "E-ER", which sparked a feud between him and Rae's then–boyfriend, Bryce Hall.[74]
In August 2022, Rae faced backlash for a post she made wearing the "Holy Trinity" bikini, a collaboration between Adidas and the brand Praying, which sported the words "Father" and "Son" on its bra and "Holy Spirit" on its bottom. In June 2020, a 2016 video that Rae had retweeted resurfaced, in which a woman criticized the Black Lives Matter movement. Rae promptly removed the tweet and issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging her earlier lack of awareness and expressing support for the movement. She wrote, “Because of my privilege, I didn’t understand and wasn’t educated enough on the social injustices facing the Black community. All lives cannot matter until Black lives do. I will never stop growing, learning, and fighting for those whose voices rightfully need to be amplified, and will forever believe that Black Lives Matter.” Her statement was widely interpreted as a reflection of personal growth and a commitment to continued education and advocacy, as she has shown continued support for the movement.[89][90]
In July 2021, a video posted by the Nelk Boys showing Rae greeting then-former President Donald Trump at UFC 264 gained attention online. And if someone does, that’s their opinion and I respect everyone’s opinions. It’s very rare to meet a former president, and I think most people could agree with me on that.
