Ajab Shir County (Persian: شهرستان عجب‌ شیر) is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Ajab Shir.^[3]

History

The village of Javan Qaleh was elevated to the status of a city in 2013.^[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 65,741 in 16,039 households.^[5] The following census in 2011 counted 66,746 people in 18,097 households.^[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 70,852 in 20,608 households.^[2]
