Speedway career
Rivett reached the final of the Speedway World Pairs Championship in the 1988 Speedway World Pairs Championship.[3] Despite riding for Australia he was called up to replace injured New Zealand rider David Bargh in the final.[4]
He started his British leagues career for Peterborough Panthers in 1984 but was then subject to an argument between Peterborough and Mildenhall Fen Tigers for his signature for the 1985 season.[5] In 1986, he joined the Exeter Falcons.[6][7]
At the 1986 Australian Individual Speedway Championship, he won the bronze medal.[8]
