Almost Monday (stylized in all lowercase) is an American indie pop band based in San Diego, California. Their debut extended play, Don't Say You're Ordinary, was released on October 9, 2020, and followed by a second, Til the End of Time, on July 9, 2021. Their debut studio album, Dive, was released on September 25, 2024.

Dawson Daugherty, Luke Fabry, and Cole Clisby met while in high school in San Diego's North County area.[3] Fabry and Daugherty grew up together and were longtime friends, and Daugherty met Clisby through surfing.[4][5] Daughterty and Fabry attended Point Loma Nazarene University, and Clisby went to the University of California, San Diego.[6]
The band was officially founded in 2015 after Daughterty's appearance on The Voice, with the band's first Instagram post being on November 23, 2015.[7] Their first lineup was made up of Daughterty on vocals, bass, and occasional guitar, Fabry on lead guitar and bass, Clisby on rhythm guitar on bass, and an unknown drummer. They initially wanted to call their band The Mondays, but the name was taken; they decided on Almost Monday as an alternative.[8][9] Their first consistent drummer was Michael Leto, who joined in late 2016, with two unknown drummers playing prior.[10] With this lineup in place, the band would release their first single, "Take Me Higher", in 2017, which received modest local radio play.[11] The band also planned to release an EP, which was recorded at Switchfoot's studio.[10] A few months after its release, Leto would be replaced by Daniel Griffo on drums.[11]
In early 2019, Griffo left the group, rendering the band a trio.[12] This new version of the band released their first single, "Broken People", on April 22, 2019.[13] It reached number 27 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay charts.[9] Soon after, the members changed around their instruments: Daughterty stayed on vocals but would swap bass for occasional rhythm guitar; Fibry switched from lead guitar to bass; and Clisby took over lead guitar duties. Around this time drummer Rafa Vidal joined the group as a touring member.[14] They released two more singles in the first half of 2020; "Parking Lot View" on January 23,[15] and "Come On Come On" on May 29.[16] Their debut EP, Don't Say You're Ordinary, was recorded in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, and released on Hollywood Records on October 9, 2020.[3][17] The EP was produced by Mark Needham and Simon Oscroft, and mixed by Mark Needham.[5]
On January 26, 2021, they released the single "Live Forever".[18] The band performed at Lollapalooza in August 2021.[19] On April 8, 2022, they released the single "Sunburn" and on June 3, 2022, they released the single "Sun Keeps on Shining."[20] In 2022, they toured with Joywave and The Driver Era.[20] They released the single "Cough Drops" on October 5, 2022. The video for the song, shot in May of that year, featured Vidal on drums.[21] On February 24, 2023, they released the single "Only Wanna Dance" after finishing their North American tour.[22] In the summer of 2024, Almost Monday opened for AJR on AJR's tour in support of their 2023 album The Maybe Man.[23]
The band's debut studio album, Dive, was released on Hollywood Records on September 25, 2024.[24] A deluxe version of Dive, with three additional tracks, was released on January 21, 2025.[25] In support of the album, the band embarked on The Dive Tour, beginning in Seoul, South Korea, on November 14, 2024, before moving through Asia and then to the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe in 2025.[26]
The second single from Dive, "Can't Slow Down", reached number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart for February 1, 2025. The song also reached number 11 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, and number 32 on Adult Pop Airplay.[27] Their single "Enjoy the Ride" was released on August 8, 2025.[28]
Almost Monday played the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco on August 8, 2025.[29] They are going on a US tour with The Band Camino on their NeverAlways Tour from October 10 to November 22, 2025.[30]
