Amanda Dorn is an Australian politician. She is a member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for the Animal Justice Party. She began her term on 22 May 2025, following her election in the 2025 state election, becoming the first Animal Justice Party member elected to WA's State Parliament.

Amanda was elected as a Councillor for the Altone Ward of the City of Swan at the 2023 election.[1] Amanda ran a successful door-knocking grassroots campaign prior to her election, highlighting issues like local wildlife protection and community engagement. As a Councillor, Amanda represented the Animal Justice Party's values and policies at a local level. She was responsible for the City of Swan Council passing a motion to expand the City's Kangaroo Management Policy to include all native fauna—a move that ensures that urban development proposals must consider the welfare of all wildlife. Amanda resigned as a Councillor in 2025, following her election to the Western Australian Legislative Council.[2]
Amanda Dorn was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council in the 2025 Western Australian state election.[3] She became her party's first member of the state parliament.[4]
She was previously a candidate in the 2021 Western Australian state election and the 2022 Australian Senate election.
In Parliament, Amanda is leading the charge in WA to introduce Veticare – a publicly funded veterinary system – while also campaigning to end greyhound racing, protect native wildlife, and reverse species extinction.

Personal life
After graduating from Edith Cowan University, Amanda spent twenty years in real estate as a sales agent. After studying for her triennial license, Amanda then became a small business owner with the launch of her boutique agency specialising in property management.
Amanda was introduced to the animal protection movement after her sister was diagnosed with cancer. This led Amanda down a journey of discovering the benefits of plant-based living, and from here Amanda become a passionate vegan with a deep understanding of the cruelty inflicted on animals across Australia.
After joining the Animal Justice Party in 2020, Amanda quickly became an active volunteer — driving campaigns, supporting events, and bringing energy and focus as a WA State Committee Member.
Amanda has volunteered in her local community, including at animal sanctuaries and wildlife rescue organisations, and has fostered animals over the years. She currently shares her home with two beloved rescue dogs — Phoebe and Mr Marble.
