An Unknown Summer is a 2023 documentary film directed by Bhaskar Jyoti Das.^[1][2][3][4] It made its World Premiere at the Slow Film Festival in United Kingdom in November 2023.^[5][6] The film was included in the Short Documentary category longlist for the One World Media Awards 2024.^[7] It also got official selections at the 16th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala and 2nd Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival.^[8][9][10]

Synopsis

Set in the village of Phoubakchao Makha Leikai in the Imphal valley, the film depicts a horrific incident that took place on 4th March 2009. A 12 year boy Azad was searched by the security forces of India. He was dragged and shot in front of his parents. Azad's parents waits for justice.^[11]
