Appen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑpə(n)]) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland.^[3] It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about 0.5 km southwest of Gietelo [nl], to which it belongs.^[4]

It was first mentioned in 1299 as Appenses. The etymology is unknown.^[5] The postal authorities have placed it under Voorst.^[6] In 1840, it was home to 808 people. Nowadays, it consists of about 20 houses.^[7]
