Arul Ramadas is a politician from Salem, Tamil Nadu. He started his political career as a cadre and held various offices in Pattali Makkal Katchi. He is currently serving as Joint General Secretary of the Pattali Makkal Katchi.
He was elected as a Member of the State Legislature from Salem West constituency in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election.[1][2] He launched a website to communicate with his constituency voters and people to keep in touch with them and he is the first MLA in India to launch mobile MLA office in which he meets people at their own place to avoid people’s discomfort and personally ask people's problems.[3]

Chettichavadi Dump Yard:
As of August 2024, Salem Corporation was using Chettichavadi dump yard to dispose of city garbage (generating ~550 tonnes/day) after processing via micro‑composting centres and incineration.
Villagers from Chettichavadi and surrounding areas initiated a signature campaign demanding relocation of the dump yard due to health concerns. In response, Arul Ramadas MLA convened meetings with residents and launched the signature drive starting 18 August 2024, pressuring civic authorities to address the dumping site issue.
