Aurai is a block of Muzaffarpur District, Bihar, India.[1] Its administrative center is the village of Aurai. As of 2011, the block has a total population of 290,545.
[2] Aurai is famous for "Huzur Shere Bihar Dargah" of Mufti Muhammad Aslam Rizwi who was great Muslim scholar of Aurai area, This Dargah is situated in Madarsa Road Maksudpur/Halimpur.
Aurai is also famous for historical temple "BhairawAsthan Mandir" is situated in bhairawasthan place of aurai. It is very ancient temple ,Before some days of Holi festival there is a very big fair here Named "Bhairawasthan Mela".
Aurai is also famous for producing "Shahi Litchi of Muzaffarpur" and "Malda Mango".

Aurai is located on the northeast of Muzaffarpur District. Its average elevation is at 55 metres above the sea level.[3]
