Ayanambakkam is a locality in Poonamallee Block, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located on the western suburb of Chennai, about 14 kilometres west of the city center. Ayanambakkam is under Thiruverkadu Municipality which is set to merge with Avadi City Corporation

Ayanambakkam is situated to the north of Cooum River, west of Chennai - Tiruthani - Renigunta Road. Its average elevation is 15 metres above the sea level.^[1]
