The house was built in the early-17th century, with mid-18th century alterations and 20th-century extensions.^[1] It was owned by the Hoskins and Master family for 210 years.^[2] Businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed lived there from the 1970s^[3][4] until his death in 2023. Both Fayed and his son Dodi are interred on the estate.^[5]
