Battle of Apamea (573)

The Battle of Apamea or sack of Apamea was a military engagement in 573 during the Byzantine–Sasanian War of 572–591 When Khosrow I was besieging Dara he sent Adarmahan at the head of an army with 6,000 soldiers^[4]to invade the Roman province of Syria. He burned around the city of Antioch^[4] and he defeated the Byzantines^[2] at the city of Apamea. After he defeated the Byzantines, he sacked Apamea and finally destroyed the city.^[4]
