Battle
Several thousand Kurdish forces of Komle and Democratic parties attacked the city of Paveh. Several hundred gendarmerie forces, the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps defended the city. Some eighty men from the IRGC forces under the command of Ali Asghar Wasali joined the defenders.
Until the 28th of August, Kurdish forces were able to capture most of the city, except the gendarmerie post and the IRGC barracks. After the efforts of Waliullah Fallahi, the commander of the ground forces of the Iranian Army, and Mustafa Chamran, the representative of the interim government, to protect the city, Havaniroz helicopters under the command of Ahmad Kishori were able to break the siege and recapture the town.[2][3][4]
