Benjamin Kindel (born April 19, 2007) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

Playing career

Kindel played junior hockey for the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League (WHL), after being selected by Calgary in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.[1][2]

Kindel was drafted 11th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2025 NHL entry draft.[3][2]

Kindel made his NHL debut against the New York Rangers on October 7, 2025.

Kindel scored his first goal in the NHL against the New York Rangers on October 11, 2025.

International play

Kindel represented the Canada national under-18 team at the 2025 IIHF World U18 Championships.[4]

Personal life

His parents, Steve Kindel and Sara Maglio, both played soccer. Steve played for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the A-League and the Canadian national team. Sara played for the Vancouver Whitecaps women's team and the Canadian national team.[5]
