Ceadîr-Lunga

Ceadîr-Lunga (Romanian pronunciation: [t͡ʃaˈdɨr ˈluŋɡa], also spelled Ceadâr-Lunga; Gagauz: Çadır-Lunga) is a city and municipality^[2] in Gagauzia, Moldova.

According to the 2014 census, the population of Ceadîr-Lunga amounted to 16,605 inhabitants, a decrease compared to the previous census in 2004, when 19,401 inhabitants were registered. Of these, 7,826 were men and 8,779 were women.^[3]

Sport

The city is represented by FC Saxan Gagauz Yeri in Moldovan Liga 2, the third tier of Moldovan football. The club play their matches in Ceadîr-Lunga Stadium.^[11]

• Mihail Ciachir (1861 in Ceadîr-Lunga - 1938 in Chișinău) was a Gagauz protoiereus who was the first published of Gagauz books in the former Russian Empire
