The Chorley and District Building Society is a British building society based in Chorley, Lancashire, England. It is a member of the Building Societies Association. As a building society, it operates under the principle of mutuality, meaning it is owned by its members rather than shareholders. As of its 166th year of operation, the Society continues to maintain a strong presence both locally and nationally.
The society has three branches, including a Head Office located on Foxhole Road, High Street in Chorley, and Towngate in Leyland.

The society has a commitment to ensuring members receive an exceptional service, regardless of channel, as well as their continued commitment to their face-to-face proposition. They attribute their success to delivering a personalised, high-quality service combined with attractive products providing long term value to their members and a highly flexible, innovative approach. For example the Head Office branch offers one of the only ‘Drive-through’ banking facilities in the entire country. The quality of service is comparable to that offered by a private banking institution.

It was created to help mill workers buy their homes. In those early days the Society only met once a month, when the subscriptions were collected. The Society became incorporated under the Building Societies Act 1874 on 6 August 1874.
