Climate Defiance disrupted the 2023 White House Correspondents Dinner,[1] an event for Exxon CEO Darren Woods,[6] and the speaking events of several powerful Democratic officials, including Tommy Beaudreau,[3] Pete Buttigieg,[7] Jennifer Granholm,[3][8] Amy Klobuchar,[9] Joe Manchin,[10] Jerome Powell,[11][12][13] and Ali Zaidi.[14] After these actions, the group received a private meeting with White House adviser John Podesta.[10][15]
Climate Defiance is supported by Margaret Klein Salamon's Climate Emergency Fund,[14] which provides about half of Climate Defiance's budget.[2]
