Plot
David Petersen (Allen Leech) is passing through the Colorado Rockies. After saving a young diner waitress, Ana (Nina Bergman) from her violent ex-husband during a break from driving, he hits the road again through a dangerous snow blizzard with the now kidnapped waitress in the trunk of the car. After a car chase with the ex-husband, David manages to elude him but one false move behind the wheel has him crashing into a snowbank, in the eye of the storm. Ana manages to get herself out of the trunk and takes him hostage. Then starts a psychological showdown between the two before an unexpected 'guest' drops in. Who will survive?

Production
Production of the film began in early 2023. It is Drouin's filmmaking debut. It was filmed in only thirteen days, in Prince George, British Columbia.[1] It is Paris-based WTFilms' second collaboration with UK production company Featuristic Films, after working together on James Kermack's action thriller Knuckledust in 2020.[2] The film was previewed at the FrightFest Film Festival in the United Kingdom on August 27, 2023.

Reception
Cold Meat has a rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and became a global hit.[3] Particularly, it was praised for its tension between the two lead characters, acting, and the "uneasy element to everything (David) says that makes the film tick."[4] At the Portuguese film festival Fantasporto in 2024, Sébastien Drouin won an award for best screenplay for his work on the film.[5]
