Geography

The locality is bounded to the west by the South Johnstone River. The land is flat and low-lying at 1 to 9 metres (3 ft 3 in to 29 ft 6 in) above sea level.^[3]

The Bruce Highway enters the locality from the south (Mourilyan) and exits to the north (South Innisfail).^[4]

The predominant land use is growing sugarcane.^[5] There is a network of cane tramways to transport the harvested sugarcane to the local sugar mill.^[4]
