Previously at the Royal Court there was also a Master of the Horse (Swedish: Överhovstallmästare) who had the highest oversight of the Royal Stables. The Crown Equerry who was head of the Royal Stables, was named First Crown Equerry (Swedish: Förste hovstallmästare).
