Cute Girls Doing Cute Things (CGDCT) is a genre of manga and anime which focuses on young female characters doing a particular activity in a cute way, although the activity itself does not have to be cute. The genre is widely regarded as developing in the late 2000s with series such as K-On!, which follows a group of school girls who form a band.[1][2] There are some older series retrospectively now grouped into the genre, and cross-over with other genres such as iyashikei.[2][3]
