Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli met in Oslo, the capital of Norway. They experimented extensively with different musical styles until they focused entirely on hardstyle music. In 2007, they finally formed the music project Da Tweekaz and sent their first demos to various record labels. The songs "Angeli Domini" and "Crowsong" made their way online. In 2008, they signed a contract with the Italian record label "DJ's United Records," which subsequently released the songs "The Past" and "Da Bomba." At the same time, the record label "Spider Records" also signed the duo for the release of the leaked track "Angeli Domini."

In 2009, they performed in front of a festival audience for the first time at the Norwegian hardstyle festival Hardstyle DNA. They were booked again for 2010 and simultaneously produced the official anthem "DNA." This track also marked their first release on the Belgian record label "Dirty Workz," with whom they came into contact through a Belgian forum. This was followed by various bookings in the Netherlands and Belgium, particularly by the promoter Q-Dance, which is why they moved to the Netherlands for a short time in 2012. In 2012, they entered the DJ Mag Top 100 for the first time, reaching number 99.[2] The following year, they climbed to number 86.[3]

On July 11, 2013, they released the song "Island Refuge" in collaboration with the duo Wasted Penguinz, which serves as the official anthem of The Continent Festival, where they also headlined. In 2014, they released a song every month as part of the #Tweekay14 project, which was then compiled into a limited edition compilation at the end of the year. They also produced the anthem for Freaqshow 2014, titled "Celebration of Sin." They landed at number 66 in the DJ Mag Top 100 at the end of the year, but slipped to number 79 in 2015.

In 2016, as in 2014, they released a song monthly with the hashtag #Tweekay16. They also collaborated with artists like Code Black and Darren Styles, and released the follow-up to their 2015 song "Wodka," titled "Tequila." At the end of 2016, they reached number 71 in the DJ Mag charts[4] and moved up to number 62 in 2017.[5] Also in 2017, they released collaborations with Sub Zero Project and again with Code Black. Furthermore, they produced the song D.W.X. with Coone, a flashback to the 10th anniversary of Dirty Workz and a remix of the theme from the US fantasy television series Game of Thrones. They also launched their new alias Tweekacore, under which they released productions in the Happy Hardcore genre.

At the beginning of 2018, their new Happy Hard label was launched together with Darren Styles under the name Electric Fox.[6] Together, they played a B2B set with Styles at the Defqon.1 festival in 2018 under their pseudonym Tweekacore and released a joint single. In addition to a cover version of the Evanescence song "Bring Me to Life" and a collaboration with Sephyx, the song "Jägermeister" was also released, which became a success. They finished the year at number 76 in the DJ Mag Top 100.[7]

Following a collaboration with Refuzion, a cover version of the 1994 song "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)" by Scatman John was released as a free download on April 19, 2019. After releasing over nine songs, they were ranked 68th in the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2019.[8]

For some time now, Da Tweekaz, along with Coone and Harddriver, have been known under the name "The Elite."

Musical Style

Da Tweekaz's musical style is predominantly classified as Euphoric Hardstyle or "Ballermann-Hardstyle".[11] Another distinctive feature of their appearance is their use of humor, which plays a major role in their videos and songs. In particular, Wodka, Tequila, and Jägermeister (the latter became a Ballermann hit in Mallorca)[12] reflect this. All three songs are based on the country the drink represents, thus parodying Russian, Mexican, and southern German musical aspects. This was also humorously incorporated visually in the videos. Furthermore, in 2010, they released the song Duck Tool, whose topline consisted of the squeaking of a rubber duck. They also used this sound to parody the Defqon.1 anthems released in 2015 and 2016. They are known for their hardstyle remixes of Blue (Eiffel 65), Faded (Alan Walker) and The Hanging Tree (The Hunger Games). They have also released remixes of songs from various Disney films, e.g. Let It Go (Frozen), How Far I'll Go (Moana) and Circle Of Life (The Lion King).
