Daljit Singh Chaudhary (born 23 November 1965) is an Indian Police Service officer of 1990 batch UP cadre.[1] Singh is present Director General of the Border Security Force of India and former Director general of Sashastra Seema Bal.[2][3][4] He was earlier Special Director of Central Reserve Police Force and Additional Director General (ADG), and has served as ADG (Law and Order) in Uttar Pradesh Police.[5][6]

Early life and education
Daljit Singh Chaudhary was born on 23 November 1965. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) followed by a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).[7]
Career
State service and UP Police
Chaudhary entered the Indian Police Service in the 1990 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. During his tenure in the Uttar Pradesh Police, he held several senior positions including Additional Director General (Law & Order).[8]
Central armed police assignments
Chaudhary served on central deputation and held elevated posts including Special Director in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).[9]
Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal
In January 2024, Chaudhary assumed the post of Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).[10]
Appointment as Director General, Border Security Force
On 29 August 2024, the Government of India approved Chaudhary’s appointment as Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), for a tenure up to his superannuation on 30 November 2025 or until further orders.[11][12]

Recent activities
- As BSF Director General, Chaudhary led a review of border posts in Manipur and engaged with local authorities on law-and-order and immigration enforcement in 2025. [13]
- Chaudhary announced that border posts where BSF personnel were martyred would be named in their honour during a frontier visit to Jammu in 2025. [14]
