David S. Smart was a Scottish international lawn bowler who competed at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games (now Commonwealth Games).

Biography
Smart was a member of the Merchiston Edinburgh Bowling Club[1] and was part of the Merchiston Edinburgh pair[2] with Jim Kerr, that won the District finals[3] to qualify for the 1956 Scottish National Bowls Championships, where they then won the national pairs title.[4][5][6]
He represented the 1958 Scottish team[7][8] at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, Wales,[9] where he participated in the pairs event,[10] again with Jim Kerr.[11]
In 1961, Smart was still actively playing bowls and reached the District finals.[12]
