History
The company was originally registered as Vynol Paints Pty Ltd. in 1958.[5][6] Based in Sydney, Australia, it officially began operating under the name Derivan in 1964.[7][8][9][10]
During the 1960s, it became the first company to introduce student-grade acrylic paints in Australia. In the 1970s, Derivan began producing non-toxic screen inks, block inks, and face and body paint. In the late 1980s, the company launched its Matisse range of acrylic paints.[11][12][7][13][14]
