Devinder Toor

Canadian politician From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Devinder Toor is a Canadian politician who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Calgary-Falconridge in the 30th Alberta Legislature.[2] He ran for re-election in 2023 but was defeated.[3]

Toor supported Danielle Smith in the UCP leadership race and was an early supporter of the Alberta Sovereignty Within a United Canada Act.[4]

Toor was the Parliamentary Secretary for Multiculturalism and was a member of the Social Services Cabinet Policy Committee, Standing Committee on Legislative Offices and Standing Committee on Public Accounts. He previously was on the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future.[5][6]

As MLA, Toor advocated for issues such as reducing crime, more access to charter schools, and lowering taxes.[7]

Personal life

Toor was born in India. Prior to his election, he owned his own business. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy.[8] Him and his wife Balmeet have 2 children together.[9]
