Dominik Óscar Gutiérrez (born April 5, 1997) is an American professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Dominik Mysterio, and he is a member of The Judgment Day stable. He is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion in his first reign. Mysterio is also a former two-time NXT North American Champion.
Gutiérrez is a third-generation professional wrestler, after his father Rey Mysterio and great-uncle Rey Misterio Sr. He has been around wrestling for the majority of his life, thanks to attending WWE events as a child to see his father. He had his first direct involvement when he was 8 years old in 2005, which was a storyline in which his father battled Eddie Guerrero over his legal custody. He then began training in 2017 and later started appearing with his father on WWE television in 2019. The following year, he began a feud with Seth Rollins, which culminated in his debut match at that year's SummerSlam in a losing effort. He then formed a tag team with his father in which they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship once, making them the first father and son team to win a tag team championship in WWE. He later turned on his father in 2022 to join the villainous stable, The Judgment Day, and battled his father in losing efforts at WrestleMania 39 and XL. Mysterio defeated Finn Balor, Penta, and Bron Breakker, the incumbent champion, for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 by pinning Balor.

Early appearances (2003, 2005, 2006, 2010)
Before he became a professional wrestler, Gutiérrez went to WWE events to see his father on several occasions. He was in the audience on the June 5, 2003 edition of SmackDown! in Anaheim, California where his father won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship from Matt Hardy. He celebrated with his father in the ring as the show went off the air. He had his first storyline in the summer of 2005 as part of a storyline between his father and Eddie Guerrero, in which the two rivals fought for custody of him. During the storyline, Guerrero stated that he was Dominik's biological father.[4] On August 21, Mysterio defeated Guerrero in a ladder match for custody of Dominik at the SummerSlam pay-per-view.[5] He made two more appearances in 2006, first at WrestleMania 22 with Angie and Aalyah watching his father win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time and second on the September 15 episode of SmackDown! where he watched backstage as his father battled with Mr. Kennedy. He once again appeared on the March 12, 2010 episode of SmackDown, this time during the feud between his father and the Straight Edge Society (CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Serena).[6][7]

The Mysterios (2019–2022)
In 2018, Gutiérrez began training with Jay Lethal and his father to become a professional wrestler.[1] On the March 19, 2019 episode of SmackDown Live, Dominik appeared on the show with his father, Rey Mysterio, who announced that he would be facing Samoa Joe for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 35 on April 7.[8] He once again appeared on Raw from April to June, during the feud between Mysterio and Joe.[9] During the following months, he was involved in his father's storylines and matches, including interfering in Rey's WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series on November 24.[10][11][12]

In May 2020, Rey and Dominik feuded with Seth Rollins and Murphy, leading to Dominik's first match at SummerSlam on August 23, where he lost to Rollins in a Street Fight.[13][14] At Payback on August 30, Dominik and Rey defeated Rollins and Murphy, earning his first victory in WWE.[15] On the following episode of Raw, Dominik lost to Rollins in a qualifier for the triple threat match for the WWE Championship at Clash of Champions.[16]
As part of the 2020 Draft in October, Dominik was drafted to the SmackDown brand.[17] At Royal Rumble on January 31, 2021, he entered his first Royal Rumble match at number 21, eliminating King Corbin but was eliminated by Bobby Lashley.[18] Following the event, Dominik began teaming with Rey.[19][20][21] At WrestleMania Backlash on May 16, they defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to win the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship, marking Dominik's first championship in WWE and becoming the first father-son tag team champions in WWE history.[22] On the June 4 episode of SmackDown, the Mysterios retained their titles against The Usos, albeit with controversy as the referee failed to notice Jimmy's shoulder was lifted. After Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville granted a rematch later that night, the Mysterios again retained their titles after Roman Reigns interfered and attacked them, causing a disqualification.[23] At the Money in the Bank pre-show on July 18, the Mysterios lost the titles to The Usos, ending their reign at 63 days.[24] They failed to regain the titles at SummerSlam on August 21.[25]
As part of the 2021 Draft, Rey and Dominik were drafted to the Raw brand.[26] In February 2022, they were involved in a feud with The Miz, which grew to involve social media personality Logan Paul, culminating in a tag team match between the Mysterios and Miz and Paul on Night 1 of WrestleMania 38 on April 2, which the Mysterios lost.[27][28][29]
The Judgment Day (2022–present)
In the summer of 2022, the Mysterios began feuding with The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley) over their attempts to recruit Dominik into the group and betray his father.[30][31][32] At SummerSlam on July 30, the Mysterios defeated Bálor and Priest following interference from the returning Edge.[33] After losing an Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match on the following episode of Raw, The Judgment Day attacked Dominik and Rey. Edge came out to save them, but accidentally speared Dominik.[34] The following week, Dominik confronted Edge and shoved him. Later that night, during a match between Rey and Bálor, Ripley appeared and laid down a bloody and bruised Dominik, distracting Rey long enough for Bálor to win the match.[35]
At Clash at the Castle on September 3, Dominik accompanied Rey and Edge for their match against Bálor and Priest, which they won. After the match, Dominik hit Edge with a low blow and Rey with a clothesline, turning heel for the first time in his career.[36] On the following episode of Raw, he officially joined The Judgment Day, helping the group attack Edge and Rey. Dominik took on a gimmick mirroring Eddie Guerrero's Latino Heat while together with Ripley, who called herself Dominik's "Mami".[37][38][39] His gimmick was tweaked to that of an arrogant youth pretending to be a dangerous former convict after (kayfabe) being arrested on Christmas Eve and serving time in prison.[40][41] At the Royal Rumble on January 28, 2023, Dominik entered at number 18 wearing his father's mask, but was eliminated by eventual winner Cody Rhodes.[42] After the women's Royal Rumble winner Ripley chose to challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship, The Judgment Day began appearing on SmackDown and Dominik tormented Rey for a match at WrestleMania 39. Rey refused to accept his challenge until the March 24 episode of SmackDown, when he attacked Dominik for disrespecting his mother and sister.[43][44][45] On Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 on April 1, Rey defeated Dominik after interference from the newly-reformed Latino World Order and Bad Bunny.[46]
In July, he began to work as "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio.[47] On the July 17 episode of Raw, Dominik and Priest failed to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.[48] The next night on NXT, Dominik defeated Wes Lee to win the NXT North American Championship, his first singles title.[49] On the following episode of SmackDown, Dominik defeated Butch to retain the title, becoming the first person in WWE history to wrestle in the main events of Raw, NXT and SmackDown in the same week.[50] At NXT The Great American Bash on July 30, Dominik successfully defended the title against Lee and Mustafa Ali in a triple threat match.[51] He retained the title against Dragon Lee on the August 8 episode of NXT and September 25 episode of Raw.[52][53] At NXT No Mercy on September 30, Dominik lost the title to Trick Williams, ending his first reign at 74 days, but regained the title three nights later on NXT, becoming the third wrestler after Johnny Gargano and Carmelo Hayes to win the title more than once.[54][55] On the following episode of NXT, Dominik unsuccessfully challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship after interference from Williams.[56] On Night 2 of NXT: Halloween Havoc on October 31, Dominik successfully defended his title against Nathan Frazer.[57] At Survivor Series WarGames on November 25, Dominik participated in his first WarGames match alongside The Judgment Day (which now included JD McDonagh) and Drew McIntyre against Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Zayn and the returning Randy Orton in a losing effort.[58] At NXT Deadline on December 9, Dominik lost the NXT North American Championship to Dragon Lee, ending his second reign at 67 days.[59] On Night 1 of WrestleMania XL on April 6, Dominik and Legado Del Fantasma's Santos Escobar lost to Rey and Andrade after interference from Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce.[60]
On the April 15 episode of Raw, Dominik suffered a legitimate elbow injury during a match with Andrade, and was believed to be out of in ring action for “about six to eight weeks”.[61][62] During this time, he began a storyline with Liv Morgan, having accidentally helped her defeat Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship at King and Queen of the Ring on May 25.[63] Two nights later on Raw, after accidentally helping her retain the title against Lynch, Morgan kissed Dominik.[64] During the following weeks, as part of her plan to take everything from Ripley, Morgan continuously flirted with Dominik in an attempt to win him over.[65][66][67] On the July 8 episode of Raw, Dominik and Morgan defeated Rey and Zelina Vega when Dominik pinned his father. After the match, as he and Morgan were about to kiss, they were interrupted by a returning Ripley.[68] He won back Ripley's trust on the July 22 episode of Raw by publicly telling Morgan he hated her and making her cry.[69] However, at SummerSlam on August 3, Dominik helped Morgan retain her title, ultimately betraying Ripley by kissing Morgan afterwards.[70] They lost to Ripley and Priest in a mixed tag team match at Bash in Berlin on August 31.[71] At Bad Blood on October 5, Dominik was suspended above the ring in a shark cage during a title rematch between Morgan and Ripley, where he was attacked by Ripley after dangling from the cage.[72]

At the Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025, Dominik entered the titular match at number 26, but was quickly eliminated by Priest.[73] In March, his ring name was reverted to Dominik Mysterio.[74] Over the following months, he would support Bálor in his pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship, while tensions between them grew. On Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 on April 20, Dominik defeated Bálor, Penta and defending champion Bron Breakker in a fatal four-way match to win the title by pinning Bálor, marking his first singles championship on the main roster and becoming part of the third father and son duo to win that title.[75] He successfully defended the title against Penta the next night on Raw and at Backlash on May 20.[76][77] At Worlds Collide on June 7, Dominik appeared to challenge Octagón Jr. to a title match later that night at Money in the Bank, where he retained after interference from Morgan.[78][79] On July 25, Dominik made his debut for WWE's sister promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) at Alianzas, where he attacked Dragon Lee and AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.[80] On Night 2 of SummerSlam on August 3, Dominik successfully defended his title against AJ Styles.[81]
