Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado is an upcoming American adventure comedy film directed by Alberto Belli and written by JT Billings. It is loosely a live-action adaptation of the animated television series Dora the Explorer created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes, and Eric Weiner and serves as a standalone sequel to Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019). It stars Samantha Lorraine, Jacob Rodriguez, Daniella Pineda, and Gabriel Iglesias.
Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado is scheduled to be released simultaneously on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ on July 2, 2025.[2]

Production
In May 2024, it was revealed that a new live-action Dora the Explorer film was in development titled Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, with Alberto Belli directing and JT Billings writing the screenplay. Samantha Lorraine was cast in the eponymous role.[4] Jacob Rodriguez was cast as Dora's cousin Diego the following month.[5] Principal photography began on August 9, 2024, in Rio Claro, Colombia,[6] with Federico Cantini serving as the cinematographer.[7] In May 2025, it was revealed that Mariana Garzón Toro, Acston Luca Porto, Daniella Pineda, and Gabriel Iglesias had joined the cast.[2]
