Dragon Pony (Korean: 드래곤포니; RR: Deuraegonponi) is a South Korean rock band formed by Antenna. The band consists of four members: Ahn Tae-gyu, Pyun Sung-hyun, Kwon Se-hyuk, and Ko Gang-hun. They debuted on September 26, 2024, with the extended play (EP) Pop Up.[1]

Name
The band's name was taken from the members' Chinese Zodiac signs being born in the year of the dragon and the horse.[2][1]

2024–present: Introduction and debut with Pop Up
On March 19, Dragon Pony was officially introduced by music and entertainment agency Antenna as their first boy band to debut. The members had auditioned and trained for two years under the agency[3][4][5]
On April 4, Dragon Pony revealed through their official Youtube channel that in order for them to debut, they must complete two missions given by the company's CEO Yoo Hee-yeol. The first goal is to reach 20,000 followers on their official SNS (Instagram account) and second is to have a solo concert with 500 audience members.[6][7][8] On April 22, Dragon Pony surpassed 20,000 SNS followers therefore accomplishing their first goal.[9]
On June 29, Dragon Pony held a 500 audience solo-concert held at Musinsa Garage, Mapo District Seoul completing their debut mission.[10][11] Dragon Pony has been active on their YouTube channel releasing videos of their debut journey and posting live clips of their self composed songs: "Morse Code", "Traffic Jam", "Waste", "Snake That Eats Its Tail" and "Pity Punk".[12][13][14] Even before debuting, Dragon Pony has been invited in multiple stages like 'Mint Festa vol. 73 FASCINATING', '66th Live Club Day' and 'Road to BU-ROCK'.[15][8][16] Dragon Pony also joined their labelmates and seniors Peppertones, Jung Jae-hyung and Kwon Jin-ah for a commercial shoot called 'Samsung Gift Funding Song'.[17][18] Dragon Pony then participated on the 20th anniversary album of the band Peppertones by singing a remake version of their song "Deneb".[19]
On September 26, Dragon Pony officially debuted with the self-composed and produced EP Pop Up.[20][21] Immediately after their debut, Dragon Pony was included on major festival lineups like '2024 Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel', '2024 Busan International Rock Festival', and 'Grand Mint Festival 2024'.[22][23][24]
On October 10 to 12, Dragon Pony held a three day consecutive busking called 'Dragon Pony Pop-up Busking' held at Sinchon Myungmul Quarter Seoul, Yangyang Liberty Gangwon-do and Hyundai Uplex Sinchon Seoul.[25] On October 12, Dragon Pony announced their first club tour in four clubs for the month of November located at Seoul, Busan and Jeonju called 'Dragon Pony POP-UP club LIVE'.[26] On October 25, Dragon Pony had their first pictorial and interview since debuting with fashion magazine, Cosmopolitan.[27] On October 30 to November 3, British heritage brand Fred Perry collaborated with Dragon Pony by opening a brand community space called 'Fred Perry Agit' under the concept 'Artist's Hideout'. This collaboration involves a space to visit containing Dragon Pony props, personal items and brand story as well as production of various contents.[28]
On December 8, Dragon Pony performed their first international festival at 'Big Mountain Music Festival' held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.[29] On December 21, Dragon Pony performed at Yeosu for the '2024 SOMEDAY CHRISTMAS'.[30] On December 30, Dragon Pony performed at KINTEX Exhibition Center at Ilsan for the 'Countdown Fantasy 2024-2025' to mark the end of 2024.[31]
On February 8, 2025, Dragon Pony performed at the 'Inomas Music Series' held at BEXCO Auditorioum in Busan.[32] On February, 22, Dragon Pony performed on one of Taiwan's largest festivals 'EMERGE FEST 2025'.[33]
On March 13, Dragon Pony announces their official fan club name '포용 (For young)' that combines "Po" for Pony and "Yong" for the korean term of 'Dragon'. This also can be read in english as "For Young" that means a reflection of moments of youth from the band to the fans.[1][34] On March 19, Dragon Pony released their second EP 'Not Out'.[35] On March 29, 2025, Dragon Pony performed at 'The Glow 2025' held at KINTEX Ilsan alongside Jannabi, Na Sang-hyun band and Lee seung-yoon to name a few.[36]
On May 3-4, Dragon Pony held their first solo concert since debut named, 'Dragon Pony 1st Concert 'Not Out' in Seoul'.[37] On May 3, Dragon Pony participated in their first OST titled, 'You Pour Down On Me' (네가 쏟아진다) for the television series Crushology 101.[38] On May 15, Dragon Pony is featured as Billboard's Rookie of the month.[39] On May 23-24, Dragon Pony successfully held their first international solo concert in Taipei, Taiwan.[40] On May 29, Dragon Pony performed their first university festival at Yonsei University for its 140th Anniversary festival called 'Scent of Blue'.[41]
On July 29, Dragon Pony officially released a digital single called "지구소년 (Earth Boy)" with an English title called "Radio Silence", written during their trainee days.[42][43]
